Drafting chairs are are designed to be used with a drafting/drawing table, because the range of movements required move away from the mid line. Your balance is affected, therefore you need greater variability in your positioning.

These chairs are excellent for people who have trouble sitting for too long, because they allow an easier transfer from sitting to standing, due to the 'perch' rather than a 'sit'.

It means that they are not suitable for using at regular desk, because the tables are higher and therefore above the midline. They will not suit computer use, which is below the mid line.
